I am a compassionate lifetime pet owner, having grown up in a household that always had a minimum of one dog and two cats. I’m currently the exuberant owner of two ridiculously hilarious and forever entertaining Miniature Pinschers, Max and Marley, both of whom were “rescue” dogs confined to cages for many months.
Upon getting the puppies home I quickly realized there was something wrong with Marley, who slept with her nose up in the air. I could hear gurgling noises and she was obviously struggling to breathe. I rushed her to the emergency vet clinic and was advised that Marley would have been dead by morning had I not brought her in. She required extensive care, prayer and love since testing determined a pre-existing case of pneumonia and lungs full of fluid were the cause of the gurgling. Marley literally was drowning.
I nursed Marley back to health from her death bed over a period of several months, including sitting with her for many hours daily when she was too weak to even sit up on her own. It was heart-wrenching to see her struggle simply to eat and drink but she is now fully healthy!
I have a degree in Physical Education and worked in the fitness industry for many years. I was a former top caliber long distance runner who won numerous events at distances ranging from 5K up to the half-marathon before competing in my first marathon, where I finished 5th overall with a time in the 2:30s. My training peaked at 120 Kilometers/week and my awards include being a two-time silver medalist at the National Masters’ Championships.
I now combine my passion for health, fitness and pets into one endeavour and am totally committed to ensuring your pet gets the same care and attention as my own dogs do.
What does this all mean? I have the energy and fitness level to keep up with your beloved pooch! Your pet’s activity, fitness and energy levels are just as important as your own and you can be sure I can “go the extra mile” (at a good pace) with your beloved pooch.
I live on Lakeshore West near Park Lawn in Etobicoke and can be seen daily along the waterfront or at one of the local parks. I welcome the opportunity to be a part of your pet’s life.
